There was a wide variety of games shown during this year’s E3, with companies like Xbox, Nintendo, and Square Enix all coming together to show what players can look forward to playing in the coming years. While the company that organizes E3, the ESA, has revealed the winners of its E3 Awards, another metric some have looked towards to see who won E3 is pre-order numbers.

Thankfully, GameStop has come out to help players who care about the numbers by announcing the top ten games that have been preordered at its stores in the wake of E3. As a bonus, the list includes an honorable mention in Halo Infinite. The bottom of the top ten is filled by Pokemon Legends: Arceus at number 10, Madden NFL 22 at number 9, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance at number 8, and Far Cry 6 at number 7. Number 6 is held by Square Enix’s new Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which was one of the bigger surprises of the show.

Interestingly, the top half of the list is dominated by Nintendo titles. Number 5 is held by Mario Party Superstars with number 4 being Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. Number 3 is the upcoming Mario Golf Super Rush with number 2 being Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Finally, the most pre-ordered game after E3 at GameStop is Metroid Dread. Fans have been waiting a long time for a new mainline Metroid game, and it was announced following Nintendo’s presentation that Metroid Dread will finish the story started by the very first game in the series.

Of course, GameStop’s data is only privy to the pre-order numbers at their stores, so it could be possible that pre-orders through other avenues could sway the leaderboard pretty significantly. Regardless, it is interesting that Nintendo dominates GameStop’s top 10 so much. Of course, it could also be a consequence of Nintendo’s line-up primarily being games releasing later this year where many of the other shows showed games that were either further from release or didn’t even have solid dates. Either way, there were a lot of games revealed at E3 to get excited about with something coming for every type of gamer under the sun.
